Introduction to Shuishu custom

"Shui Shu" is a budding writing created by the ancestors of Shui nationality in southwest China. Shuishu custom is the formation, development and inheritance of Shuishu, which constitutes a custom related to the life of Shui people. 1 Shuishu is known as the encyclopedia of the aquarium. The funeral, sacrifice, marriage, architecture, tourism, divination and production of Shui people are all based on Mr. Shui Shu's finding out the basis from Shui Shu and then acting in strict accordance with its constraints, thus forming an important premise of Shui Shu's custom culture. The custom of water calligraphy is also a reflection of the living conditions of the Shui people. According to incomplete statistics, there are seven or eight hundred kinds of ghosts and gods that the Shui people believe in. A survey of many names of ghosts and gods and entries in Shui Shu covers almost all the names in the world. 1 The custom of Shuishu has formed two parts: one part is a manuscript compiled with the ancient characters of the embryonic form of the Shui nationality, and the other part is orally taught by Mr. Shuishu, which makes up for a large number of essentials, ceremonies and greetings that cannot be recorded because of the imperfect development of the characters. There are many volumes of Shui Shu, including reading volumes and application volumes. There are dozens of application volumes, such as reading volume, time volume and 28-night volume, and dozens of reading volumes, such as Zhengqi volume and Haizi volume. 1On May 20th, 2006, Shuishu custom was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. 1 The Shui nationality originated from the ancient Baiyue clan system, and its settlement is located at the southern foot of Miao Ling Mountain in the southeast of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and at the upper reaches of Liu Du and Longjiang River. With dense forests and picturesque scenery, it is suitable for the development of agriculture and forestry. It is the land of plenty and flowers in Guizhou Plateau. Shui people are good at farming, mainly planting rice.
