Popcorn eaten in Song Dynasty

The "popcorn" in the Song Dynasty may be glutinous rice flowers, because corn was introduced into China only in the Ming Dynasty, and it was also in the Ming Dynasty that the raw materials for making popcorn changed from glutinous rice to corn.

However, the earliest popcorn was not used for eating, but for divination. Fan Chengda, a poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, recorded: "Stir-fried glutinous rice with Ibrahimovic, commonly known as Boluo, and northerners call it glutinous rice flower". In Compendium of Materia Medica, Li Shizhen recorded the method of making popcorn from corn. The original sentence is "corn can be fried and eaten, and white flowers can be fried".
