History of European sages

In distant medieval Europe, sages were important members of the court, usually military advisers to kings or astrologers or fortune tellers in the court. They are all regarded as symbols of wisdom, providing the emperor with the most correct advice. In religion, sages also play an important role. Whether it is Druidism, Christianity and Catholicism, or Judaism, there are more or less sages. They are generally respected elders, or senior missionaries or mentors.
