What is a prodigal son?

The rich boy, Sanskrit Sudhana Kumāra, is a model that Buddhism pursues diligently, visits all directions, devotes himself to practice, and finally achieves enlightenment. According to Hua Yan Jing, good karma is one of the 500 old boys, the capital city where Manjushri once lived.

At birth, many rare treasures naturally emerged in the family, hence the name "auspicious". However, wealth-loving teenagers see through the world of mortals, regard property as dirt, and vow to practice and achieve Taoism.

Manjusri Bodhisattva once said that a boy with good fortune went to ask the Bodhisattva how to practice Taoism. At Manjusri's behest, the auspicious boy began to visit fifty-three Shanzhi, creating a wonderful story of "Fifty-three Ginseng of the Lucky Boy" in Buddhist scriptures. He met Guanyin Bodhisattva in Luojiashan, Putuo, and became a Bodhisattva after teaching and education.
