Yi people's customs are dress, diet and hospitality.

Generally, Yi men's wear is double-breasted, short-sleeved clothes and trousers, while women's wear is long gown, medium robe, short-sleeved clothes and coat vest. The headdress is made of silver foam and wool, and the clothing patterns are mostly natural patterns, followed by geometric patterns. The diet of the Yi people is mainly potatoes, corn, buckwheat and rice, and non-staple foods include meat, beans and vegetables. Yi people's wines include altar wine, barrel wine and water wine. Liangshan Yi people like to smoke orchids, while other Yi people like to smoke leaves. Yi people's hospitality is to beat sheep and cattle. As long as the guests arrive, they will kill animals to entertain them. According to the identity and closeness of visitors, they can be divided into cattle, sheep, pigs and chickens. Before slaughter, they should bring the live animals to the guests, let them have a look, and then slaughter them to show their respect.
