Five elements are simple dialectical materialism philosophy of ancient Han people. Mostly used in philosophy, Chinese medicine and divination. The theory of five elements is an important part of Chinese culture. Su Wen said: ... Five elements, Jin Mu's fire, water and earth are more expensive and cheaper, so as to know life and death and decide success or failure. The five elements refer to five modes of material movement: gold, wood, water, fire and earth. Ancient Han thinkers used the theory of five elements to explain the formation of all things in the world and their relationship. China TCM uses the five elements to explain various physiological and pathological phenomena. Superstitious people use the five elements to calculate people's fate.

The five elements are born together: gold begets water, aquatic wood, wood makes fire, fire begets soil, and soil begets gold.
