The sacrificial process of hunting and sacrificing heads.

In ancient times, until liberation, it was customary for the Wa people to cut down wooden drums and call out the soul of the valley, and then sacrifice the hunter's head, so that the country gods could bless the peace here and the bumper harvest of the grain. Hunter's head is the activity of the whole village. After killing a chicken for divination, the old man and the head choose an auspicious day and send dozens of strong men to hunt the head. After hunting the head, they should return to the stockade as soon as possible. When they reach a place not far from the stockade, they will shoot and shout. When the leader in the stockade knows that he has got the head, he will beat gongs and drums to warn the villagers not to go up the mountain and down the river. Then the boss and the old man meet at the designated place with a red envelope, a bowl of rice and an egg. Put a red bun on your head, feed rice grains and eggs to your head, then pray and toast your head. Several women wash and dress your head while crying.

If the head is cut off, it will be sacrificed. The priest's family is a wealthy family selected by the leader and able to afford the villagers' meals during the ceremony. After the ceremony, adult men, as the main sacrifice, put their heads in bamboo cages and brought them to the sacred forest where their heads were placed amid the roar and the sound of gongs and drums.

The last ceremony of offering sacrifices to human heads is to wash the long knives that cut people's heads. The person in charge of washing long knives was also chosen by the chief. The knife washer should prepare a yellow cow and then slaughter it for the villagers to eat. Cattle will be slaughtered in the right armpit. If the cow falls to the left after slaughter, it is best to spray blood into the air. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the bad habit of hunting sacrificial heads has been completely abolished.
