How Simple the Book of Changes is —— A Brief Analysis of the Story of Zuo Zhuan (1)

I told the story of divination in Zhouyi earlier. We are talking about some things about divination in Zuo Zhuan, mainly grabbing some interesting stories and presenting them to you in the form of original text and incidental translation.

According to legend, Zuo Zhuan is a historical book annotated by Zuo Qiuming, a native of Lu, at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period. It is also called "Three Biographies of Spring and Autumn Period" together with Biography of Ram and Biography of Gu Liang. It is also classified as the first chronological history book according to the number of years, and it is also an outstanding historical prose. It turned out that it translated the Spring and Autumn Annals written by Confucius, just like the difference between the Book of Changes and the Book of Changes. Zuozhuan translated Spring and Autumn Annals, which we also call Zuoshi Spring and Autumn Annals. Some scholars think that Zuo Zhuan is an independent history book, which has little to do with Chunqiu. If you are interested, you can check the information yourself, so I won't go into details here.

Nishimiya four years

Jin Xiangong wants to marry Li Ji, which is unlucky; Yes, Ji. Gong said, "From the ceremony. The fortune teller said, "It's not as good as a senior turtle. Moreover, he said, "specializing in Chongqing is a great challenge to the public. I smoked once and it still stinks ten years later. " This is necessary. "Listen, stand. Born together, my daughter gave birth to Zhuo Zi. And Li Xiqi, a general, made a plan with Dr. China. She said to her eldest son, "If you dream of Qijiang, you should make sacrifices quickly. The eldest son sacrificed Quwo and returned to the public. Gong Tianhe Ji stayed in the palace for six days. Public, poison and offer it. A place of public sacrifice, a grave. With dogs, dogs die. And I, too, will die. Ji cried, "The thief follows the eldest son." Da Zi ran to a new city. Gong killed his original money. Or the eldest son: "What you say, you have to argue." . The eldest son said, "You are not disciplined. You're restless and you don't have enough food. Ji will feel guilty if I quit. I'm not happy that you are old. Holmium: Holmium! "The eldest son said," You really don't look at his sins. You are also famous for this name. Who can accept me? 」

December Wushen, temporarily staying in the new city. Ji then called his second son and said, "Everyone knows it." Zhong Er Benpu. Yi Wu Ben qu

At first, Jin Xiangong wanted Li Ji to be his wife, and divined with a turtle, which was unlucky. Divination with yarrow is auspicious. Gong Xian said, "Listen to the divination of yarrow." The diviner said, "The number of yarrow is short and the tortoise elephant is long, so it is better to follow the tortoise's divination. In addition, its motto says, "touching will make people sick and steal your ram." . Vanilla and smelly grass will stink in ten years. Definitely not. "Jin Xiangong didn't listen, made a Li Ji. Li Ji gave birth to Xi Qi and her sister gave birth to Zhuo Zi. When he planned to make Xi the prince of Qi, Li Ji had made a plan with Dr. China. Li Ji said to the prince, "The princess dreamed of your mother Qi Jiang. You must sacrifice to her quickly." The prince went to Quwo to offer sacrifices and brought back wine and meat for the Duke. Gong Xiangang went out hunting, and Li Ji put wine and meat in the palace for six days. When Gong Xian came back, Li Ji put poison in wine and meat, and then offered it. Offer tribute and wine to the earth, and it will protrude like a grave. Give dog meat and the dog will die; Give it to the eunuch, and the eunuch dies. Li Ji cried and said, "The plot comes from the prince." The prince fled to the new town and offered to kill his original money. Someone said to the prince, "If you fight, the monarch will find out." The prince said, "You have no concubine, so you are restless and can't eat enough. If I plead guilty, so will Li Ji. When the monarch is old, Li Ji's guilt will make the monarch unhappy and I will be depressed. " Say, "Then run!" The prince said, "The monarch has not discovered my sin. If I go out in this name, who else will accept me? " On December 27th, the prince hanged himself in the new town. Li Ji framed his two sons and said, "They are all involved in the prince's plot." So Zhong Er fled to Pucheng, and Yi Wu fled to Qu Di.

The above is Jin Xiangong's divination when he wanted to establish Li Ji as the main palace. It should be mentioned here that in ancient times there was an official called historian who was responsible for recording the words and deeds of the emperor. This situation has certain credibility, and some people doubt it, because what the emperor said was too detailed. But at that time, this kind of official agreement continued to the Qing Dynasty, so belief and unbelief only stood in different angles and times. ) When choosing tortoise bligh or yarrow, I will provide the public with a more favorable divination method, which is what I said in the pre-Qin Yi Studies. It has gone through several stages. The first stage is the theory of God, the second stage is the theory of ghosts, and the third stage is the theory of ethics. From here, we can clearly realize that. He will violate the "providence" because this "providence" is sometimes in the hands of fortune tellers. Whether the fortune teller can correctly express divination, or whether there is personal desire in it, is unknown, but we can see that among tortoise diviners and fortune tellers, people often want their favorite results, which is what I often encounter when predicting others.

There are still a few points to say here: it is better to learn from the senior turtle. First, who said this? Second, why is there not only tortoise bligh, but also raccoon bligh? If tortoise shells were gradually replaced by yarrow in the Zhou Dynasty, why did Jin Xiangong still need tortoise shells? Thirdly, since Gong Xian thought that divination was accurate, why did Li Ji violate Tiande? Can yarrow divination guide people? In fact, Zuo Qiuming had a good personal relationship with Confucius, who developed yarrow divination. Since Confucius translated Chunqiu, it is obvious that there is no accuracy of yarrow here. Therefore, I can only use Xunzi's outline to explain what my good friend Confucius said: those who are good at easy things don't take up (there is no source to say that "those who know easy things don't take up, and those who are good at easy things don't anticipate"). The accuracy of Confucius' predictions recorded in silk books reached 70%. As the silk book is forged, let it go for the time being. What we are talking about is Confucius' correct understanding of Zhouyi: add me a few years old and learn the Book of Changes at the age of 50, not older than it. I ching should be a part of philosophy here. In this record, we can't say that Zuo denies divination, but he should tell future generations through this story: selfish desires prevail over heaven, and if they violate the human relations system, there will be fierce. This is exactly what Zhouyi wants to express. It doesn't matter what happens!

One more thing needs to be pointed out. Let's take a look at this passage: "specialize in Chongqing's busy people." I smoked once, and it still stinks ten years later. "",we rummaged through the hexagrams, etc. And the original sentence is not found, which shows that this should belong to the category of tortoise divination, similar to the hexagrams in Zhouyi today, and puts forward suggestions to fortune tellers. We can see that tortoise divination and divination are simple truths to warn fortune tellers of some truths.
