How many constellations are there in the world? What are they?

There are eighty-eight constellations in the world.

1930, in order to unify the complicated constellation division, the International Astronomical Union divided the sky into 88 official constellations with precise boundaries, so that every star in the sky belongs to a specific constellation. Most of these official constellations are based on ancient Greek myths handed down from the Middle Ages.

They are: polar constellations in the northern sky: Ursa minor, Ursa major, Cassiopeia, Draco and Cepheus.

Polaris constellation: Scorpio, Andromeda, Leopard, Auriga, Canis Canis, Fox, Cygnus, Leo Minor, Perseus, Shepherd, Pentecost, Backrow, Corona, Tmall, Lyra, Dolphin, Pegasus, Triangle and Sagittarius.

Zodiac: Cancer, Aries, Gemini, Aquarius, Virgo, Leo, Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn, Scorpio, Libra and Sagittarius. (This is what we usually call the twelve constellations)

Constellations: Sagittarius, Canis, Eagle, Ophiuchus, Ophiuchus, Sextant, Ophiuchus, Unicorn, Orion and Whale.

Southern constellations: Temple of Heaven, picture frame, flies, mountain case, Indian, Tian Yan, flying fish, long ruler, swordfish, clock, cuckoo, southern triangle, compass, weird dragonfly, telescope, Aquarius, southern cross, phoenix, peacock, Antarctic, networm.
