Why is Si Marui called Niu Rui?
During the Cao Wei period, there was a widely circulated divination book called "Xuanshi Tu", which recorded the prophecy that "cattle and horses go hand in hand". Sima Yi invited the astrologer Guan Ju to tell fortune for future generations. The result of Guan Yu's divination is exactly the same as Xuanzang's map.
Sima yi didn't understand what it meant. Later, he became a teacher and had all the power in the world. One of his generals, Jinniu, fought for him and made great contributions. Sima Yi suddenly touched something, thinking of the prediction that "there will be cows after, and there will be horses after", he was very jealous. He was worried that Taurus would be bad for his descendants in the future, so he sent someone to invite him to dinner. Poisoned in the wine, Taurus was magnanimous and unguarded, and "drank it and died", so he died inexplicably.
From then on, Sima Yi thought that when Taurus died, future generations could rest easy, but things were unpredictable. Sima Jin, the grandson of Sima Yi, attacked the Queen Langya, and his wife Xiahou was his concubine. Xiahou's family is very romantic. Soon they hooked up with a small official named Jinniu in Wang Fu, and then they went to Si Marui.
It is said in the history books that Si Marui is not of royal blood, but the son of Jinniu, a small official in Langya Wang Fu. Because of the rumor that "cattle and horses go hand in hand", the warrior Taurus was unjustly killed. Later generations nicknamed Si Marui Niu Rui. For example, Li Zhi, a thinker of the Ming Dynasty, called the Eastern Jin Dynasty "the cattle family of the Southern Dynasties", not the Sima family.
Extended data:

After Si Marui acceded to the throne, due to lack of prestige in the royal family, he was weak and could not get the support of the gentry in the north and south, and the throne was unstable. However, he reused Wang Dao.
Wang Dao used tactics to make the southern gentry support Si Marui, while the southern gentry also decided to support Si Marui, thus stabilizing the Eastern Jin regime and maintaining the local security situation. Si Marui was very grateful to Wang Dao and appointed him as prime minister, in charge of state affairs. When people call it "the king and the horse, * * * the world".
