Appreciation of Xiaoya Jiri's Translation Works

An arrow killed Xiao Ye pig, and it was trying to shoot the big bison. Game is for guests, who eat the same food and drink.

Chen Wu's auspicious day is good. Sacrifice Mazu and pray at the same time. The hunting car is ready. Four males, Ma Zhuang, are tall. Open a big mound and drive away the animals. Run. Gengwu's auspicious day is good, and the horse hunting has been chosen. Looking for a gathering place for wild animals, it is strange for deer to flock. Drive away the animals near the water and get to the Tian Zi Hunting Area. Looking into the distance, Yuan Ye is vast and rich. There are many wild animals that run very slowly. They swim around in groups. They all got the son of heaven and were happy to show their talents. We have drawn the bowstring and held the arrow in our hands. Shoot a small wild boar with one arrow, and shoot a big bison with all your strength.

Appreciating the four chapters of the whole poem, it artistically reproduces the whole process of Zhou Xuanwang's sacrifice to Mazu on an auspicious day, hunting in the wild, and returning home with a full load to entertain his ministers.

The first chapter describes the preparation work before hunting. The hunting of ancient emperors is as solemn and sacred as sacrifice, alliance and feast, and it is the embodiment of martial spirit. The ceremony was very grand. Therefore, it is an essential procedure to choose an auspicious day in advance to sacrifice Mazu and rectify the field car. In this chapter, "climb a big mound and learn from its ugliness" is a natural phrase. Everything is ready, just waiting for the official hunting to climb the big hill and chase animals. In the second chapter, I chose a good horse to go hunting formally. The third day after offering sacrifices to Mazu is Wugeng Day, which is also a good day according to divination.
