On the difference between official script and seal script

1. Origin: Seal script is the earliest font, which originated in Shang Dynasty and has a history of 3,000 years. In order to record divination and sacrificial activities, ancestors first carved characters on tortoise bones and animal bones; Lishu originated in the Qin Dynasty and reached its peak in the Eastern Han Dynasty.

2. Font structure: the original font of seal script is a uniform round line, which looks like painting, and there are many ways to write a word; Lishu is a typical font in Chinese characters, paying attention to the twists and turns of silkworm head and goose tail.

3. Abstract art: seal script can reproduce objective things, such as birds, insects and snake heads. These seal scripts will draw the corresponding appearance characteristics of birds, insects and so on at the beginning of writing; Official script has more abstract art, which is no longer a representation of objective things, but also a major reform of ancient calligraphy in China.
