How to make tortoise shell specimens?

Clean up:

Cut the turtle bridge deck in two directions, and remove most of the pulp and clean up the tiny tissues after separating the abdominal nail and the dorsal nail.

Production method:

Chemical method 1: scrub the inner wall of tortoise shell with alcohol, dry it, and then wipe it slightly with gasoline until the gasoline volatilizes. Coat the inner wall of dried tortoise shell with a layer of waterproof glue, or fill it with cotton or sponge. Finally, brush a layer of varnish on the surface of tortoise shell.

Chemical Method 2: Prepare a stationary liquid according to the proportion of 2g stannous chloride, 5g copper sulfate, 2g sodium borohydride, 5ml sulfurous acid and 95ml distilled water. ? Soak the tortoise shell in a container filled with the above-mentioned fixed solution 12 ~ 24 hours. ? 95 ml of distilled water, 5 ml of formalin and 2 ~ 3 ml of sulfurous acid are used to make preservation solution. ? Take out the tortoise shell treated with fixed solution and immerse it in the specimen box with preservation solution. If the immersion liquid is insufficient, it can be replenished until the tortoise shell is completely immersed. After standing for 2-3 days, cover and seal with paraffin.

Chemical method 3: take a container, put 1g potassium permanganate crystal, then pour 5~20ml iodophor, and finally pour 20~50ml hydrogen peroxide to react with potassium permanganate. The reaction produces a viscous chemical waste liquid. After mixing a proper amount of water with this waste liquid, soak the tortoise shell 12 hours, take it out, clean it and dry it in the air.

Folk method: Cover the tortoise shell with a lot of salt, seal it for 3-7 days, and then take it out to dry.
