The minister made a suggestion to Zhu Yuanzhang. Why did Zhu Yuanzhang kill him when he heard about it?

Hongwu nine years (1376), the sky changed. From today's perspective, it is only a natural phenomenon of celestial bodies caused by the movement of stars in the universe, but the ancients were superstitious and particularly sensitive to the changes of stars. In the eyes of people at that time, the change of astrology was tantamount to indicating that the country would be in great trouble, or there would be social injustice, which was a warning given by God. People care, but rulers care more. After all, Jiangshan belongs to their family. Zhu Yuanzhang felt that a series of measures should be formulated, so he sent a letter to the whole country: everyone in the world can play their own role, point out the shortcomings and unfairness of their administration, and put forward all kinds of constructive opinions and suggestions.

The emperor issued letters for people to put forward suggestions and opinions. At this time, a man named Ye Boju made a suggestion. Ye Boju was born in Ninghai, Zhejiang in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. When the Ming Dynasty was founded, he was studying in imperial academy. In the eighth year of Hongwu (1375), he was appointed by the imperial court to teach Confucianism in Pingyao, Shanxi. When Ye Boju saw Zhu Yuanzhang's imperial edict, he said to his friends: There are three major events in the world that can cause disasters, two of which are easy to see but erupt late, and the other one is not easy to see but erupts early. I wrote the letter before the emperor wrote it, and now the emperor has written a letter.

Then, Ye Boju wrote a brief, pointing out three major administrative mistakes: the enfeoffment system was too extravagant, the punishment was too complicated, and it was handled too quickly. It soon spread to Zhu. When Lao Zhu saw this performance, he was so angry that he swore: I am my own flesh and blood, and I will shoot him myself! The officers and men rushed to Shanxi, captured Ye Boju and took him to Beijing. When they arrived in Beijing, the ministers learned that Ye Boju's performance caused Zhu's anger, and they all wanted to protect him. When Zhu Yuanzhang was happy one day, they would bring it to Zhu. Zhu ordered the punishments to punish Ye Boju and put him in prison. Ye Boju finally starved to death because of being abused in prison.

Time flies, Zhu Yuanzhang died on 1398, and the throne passed to his grandson Zhu Yunwen. In the second year, Judy, the prince of Yan, launched the "Battle of Jing Nan", which was a catastrophe. Ye Boju said more than 20 years ago that the enfeoffment system was too extravagant. In this war, half the country in Daming suffered from fire and soldiers, and the people were miserable.
