The relationship between Balaam and Songzan Gambu

Balaam was painted by Songzan Gambu. According to the Jokhang Temple Catalogue written by the Fifth Dalai Lama, King Songtsan Gampo drew the world's first Thangka and Brahma statues with his nosebleed. This Thangka was later hidden in the Brahman statue of the temple by the living Buddha of Guozhuxi during the long years in Caiba Bay.
