This paper discusses the characteristics of sacrificial dance in Xia and Shang Dynasties.

Sacrificial dance in Xia and Shang dynasties paid more attention to the pleasure of the senses. With the prevalence of witchcraft, music and dance became a part of divination and sacrifice. Mainly used to pray for the protection of the gods, drive away disasters and diseases, turn evil into good, prosper people and animals, harvest crops, or thank the gods for their gifts; Sacrificial dance is a ritual dance form to sacrifice ancestors. In the past, people used to express their memory of their ancestors or hope that their ancestors and gods would bless them.

Shang Dynasty is the earliest recorded dynasty in China. Oracle Bone Inscriptions's records and unearthed cultural relics have proved the characteristics of Shang Dynasty, that is, "worshipping dragons and martial arts". This book discusses the military dance of Shang Dynasty from the single section of ground and underground materials, and demonstrates its origin relationship with modern folk gongs and drums dance. In addition, a large number of Oracle Bone Inscriptions and inscriptions were collected, and various sacrificial dances recorded by Shang people themselves were described in detail. The Zhou Dynasty was the peak of music and dance in the pre-Qin period, and the systematization and enlightenment of hierarchy and culture were also highlighted in the field of music and dance. At this time, the cultural tradition of "writing takes Tao as the body, dancing takes merit as the body, and whispering to the effect" has been formed. By discussing the "six big dances", "six small dances", aristocratic entertainment dances, folk sacrificial dances, thinkers' views on music and dance, and the swaying and turbulent state of weekend music and dance, it is concluded that this generation of dances has both its graceful and generous temperament and its limitations and weak roots.
