What methods can novices use to catch snakes?

(1) Freehand Capture This method is a common method for catching snakes (not suitable for novices). This method must be familiar with the nature of snakes, have some experience and skills in catching snakes in the wild, and use techniques and movements quickly and properly. Once you know the position of the snakehead, immediately press the snakehead with your palm, and gently pinch the snake's neck with your other hand, subject to the fact that the snake can't bite its limbs. Others grab the snake's tail first, and then hang it upside down to tame it. This method is also called "tailing method".

(2) When a poisonous snake is found in the wild by Mu Cha method, it can be approached quietly from behind, and then by surprise, the snake's neck can be accurately strangled with a special Mu Cha, Mu Cha can be fixed with one hand to prevent the snake from escaping, and the head and neck of the poisonous snake can be held down with the other hand, and Mu Cha can be put down to strangle its second half, so that it can be captured alive without being bitten.

(3) Masking method This method is suitable for catching king cobra or cobra with fierce personality and large size. When the captor approaches it, it tends to erect its head and neck and make a "whirring" sound in its mouth. At this time, he can accurately throw a hat, clothes, sacks or hemp fibers to the snake head to cover his head, and quickly press it with his hands, step on his body with his feet, and then try to grab his head and neck and throw it into the snake cage quickly. People who have no experience in catching snakes should not catch this kind of snake to avoid being hurt.

(4) Most wild snakes are photophobic, especially the golden ring snake and the silver ring snake, and their eyes will darken immediately after being irradiated by strong light. To catch these two kinds of snakes at night, it is necessary to illuminate the snake head with a miner's lamp with sufficient electricity, which often makes the snake head shrink into a ball, and then it is relatively easy to catch.

(5) The net bag method is suitable for catching swimming snakes and snakes swimming in water. That is, use a long-handled net bag (the net bag is made into a cylinder with dense mesh) to directly cover the snake head from the back of the snake body, and then suddenly retrieve it. The snake will enter the net bag, quickly twist the handle of the net bag, wrap the net bag around the handle, lock the net mouth so that the snake can't get out, and then catch the snake with your hands or directly pour it into the snake cage. (6) The iron tongs can firmly hold smaller snakes, such as Agkistrodon halys, bamboo leaves and red chain snakes. , with ordinary pliers commonly used at home. The method is simple, easy to use and easy to operate. See Figure 20 for the specific snake-shaped clamping method.
