Is Mr Dongba really a wise man who knows astronomy above and geography below? Are they really effective for the fate of fortune tellers in the Book of Changes?
Mr. Dongba's religion takes Dongba Sutra as a classic, just as Buddhist monks take Diamond Sutra as a classic. The Book of Changes was collected and sorted out by the wizards of our Chinese ancestors, and it was precipitated by historical tests. The historical origin of Dongba Classic should be the same as the Book of Changes. Because our Chinese ancestors were good at thinking, did not believe in ghosts and gods, and especially had materialistic ideas, after repeated tests by countless ancestors, it was easy to become the initial summary of nature and society, and finally it was close to the objective laws at that time and was trusted by people. According to "Three Books", as early as the Spring and Autumn Period, there were three kinds of changes: Lianshan, Zhouyi and Guizang. Confucius loved to learn the Book of Changes, so much so that Wei compiled three distinctive works and often wrote down his own learning experience, which led to the Book of Changes.
Time heals wounds and buries the truth. Many times of cultural extinction, Qin Shihuang Ying Zheng burned books to bury Confucianism (in fact, not only Confucianism, but also literate people were killed, probably because Confucianism did the least harm to the rule, with the least Confucian pits and incomplete burning). Confucius is engaged in liberal arts, and the Book of Changes is sometimes close to science and engineering. Confucius is very famous, and the Book of Changes is gone, leaving only the Book of Changes.
Historically, Li Si (Prime Minister of Qin Dynasty) listed Zhouyi as a book of divination, but it was not burned. But in fact, Yi is not as simple as a divination book. The Book of Changes is not used for divination, because Confucius "keeps a respectful distance from ghosts and gods".
To sum up, Mr. Dongba's research on the Book of Changes should not be much. I ching is not a book for divination.
