When water lanterns of various colors drift on the river, people compete to pick them up. The person who picks up the white light means that there will be a boy at home, and the person who picks up the red light means that there will be a girl. As Guangdong Xinyu said, "It is Haifeng's custom to put a water lamp on the river at dusk in January. Those who get a white lamp are male signs, and those who get a red light are female signs."
