-Excerpt from the Biography of the Reflection of Wei Zhi Zhuge Ke.
Zhuge Liang has a brother named Zhu Gejin, Zhuge Liang protects Liu Bei in Xishu, and Zhu Gejin protects Sun Quan in Soochow. This allusion comes from Dongwu.
At that time, the owner of Soochow was Sun Quan, who was very familiar with Zhu Gejin. One day, Sun Quan held a grand banquet, and Zhu Gejin also attended. Zhu Gejin has a long face and a bad image, so Sun Quan wants to play a joke on him. When everyone was in high spirits, Sun Quan gave an order and said, "Bring it to the class!" Someone brought a donkey here. It's nothing to lead a donkey. The key is to write three words on the front of the donkey: "Zhu Gejin." Everyone immediately thought of Zhu Gejin's long face, so they were all happy. Zhu Gejin couldn't say anything when his master teased him. It happened that Zhu Gejin came that day with his son, whose name was Zhuge Ke, and he was only six years old. Zhuge Ke walked up to Sun Quan and said, "Master, please give me the pen. Can I add two more words?" Sun Quan ordered the pen to be brought to him. Zhuge Ke took a pen and added the word "donkey" to the donkey's face, which became "Zhu Gejin's donkey". Ministers all laughed and said, "Gee, this child is really smart." Sun Quan also said happily, "You add these two words well, and this donkey is yours."
After a while, Sun Quan met Zhuge Ke again and asked him, "Your father is in Soochow, but your uncle Zhuge Liang is protecting Liu Bei in Shu. I ask you, who is more talented and smarter than your uncle? " Sun Quan's problem is tantamount to giving children a difficult problem. As we all know, Zhuge Liang is resourceful and Zhu Gejin is not as good as Zhuge Liang. But without thinking, Zhuge Ke immediately replied, "Master, I think my father is the cleverest and my father is more talented." Sun Quan was very interested and asked, "How can your father be talented? Can you make it clear? " Zhuge Ke said, "My father knew Bao Mingjun, and you are the real Bao Mingjun, but my uncle didn't know Bao Mingjun, so he went to protect Liu Bei." Hearing this, Sun Quan nodded repeatedly. Later, Sun Quan said to Zhu Gejin: "Meiyu came out of Lantian, and you were born with nothing." Lantian is a place in Shaanxi, which is famous for its beautiful jade. Sun Quan's words are an affirmation of Zhu Gejin and a compliment to Zhuge Ke.
"Lantian gives birth to jade" is a metaphor for a virtuous father giving birth to a virtuous son, and also for a noble family giving birth to a virtuous son.
Three people spread the news of a tiger, making you believe that there is a tiger around.
—— Excerpt from "Everything is done by Zi Chu Shuo"
During the Warring States period, Wei and Zhao had friendly relations and signed an alliance treaty. At that time, there was a custom between countries. To show the friendship between the two countries, the monarch often sends his prince to another country, which is equivalent to being a hostage. Wang Wei wants to send his prince to Handan, the capital of Zhao, and he also chooses a minister named Pang Gong to accompany him.
Before he left, Wang Wei called Pang Gong to the palace and told him what to do and how to accompany the prince to Handan. After everything was done, Wang Wei finally asked Pang Gong, "What do you think of my sending you to Handan?"
Pang Gong said: "This time, your majesty's dispatch is your trust in me. Naturally, I'll do my best. However, I have something to ask your majesty? "
The king of Wei nodded and asked him to go on. Pang Gong said, "Excuse me, Your Majesty, if someone says that there are tigers in downtown Beijing, do you believe it?"
Wang Wei said: "How is this possible? I don't believe it. "
Pang Gong went on to say, "But not long after, another man came to tell you that there was a tiger wandering in the downtown area. Do you believe it? " Wang Wei said no.
Pang Gong added, "Your Majesty, another person, that is, the third person, has come to see you and told you vividly that the tiger has really come and is wandering in that downtown area. Do you believe it? "
"If so, maybe I will believe it."
"Big king, what do I mean by saying this? You may not know. I will accompany the prince to Handan, the capital of Zhao, and I will be far away from you soon. The distance between us is much farther than the distance between the city and your palace. I'm afraid that after I leave, the ministers in the DPRK who are always with me will speak ill of me in front of the king. Don't trust me. " Wang Wei agreed.
Pang Gong accompanied the Prince to Handan, the capital of Zhao State, and lived there for a long time. During this period, there were really many people who spoke ill of Pang Gong in front of Wang Wei. When Pang Gong returned to appear before the King of Wei, Wang Wei said that he was nowhere to be seen. Pang Gong thought that three people became tigers, and sure enough, a tiger finally appeared.
The idiom "three people make a tiger" comes from the above story, which means that three people lied that there was a tiger in the market, and the listener believed it. Metaphor is a rumor repeated by many people, which can make people believe it.

Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty was a talented emperor, but he was superstitious and believed in gods and ghosts all day, so there was a "witch prison" at the end of his reign. What is a prison for witchcraft? Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty had a minister named Jiang Chong, who was at odds with the Prince. Once Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was ill, Jiang Chong said uneasily and kindly, "Your illness has a reason. Someone must curse you behind your back, make a puppet like you, bury it in the ground and curse you all day, and you will get sick. " Upon hearing this, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty asked Jiang Chong to investigate the matter carefully. As a result, Jiang Chong dug a wooden stake in the Prince's Mansion. The prince knew that Jiang Chong was setting him up and wanted to kill Jiang Chong, but he didn't succeed. Finally, Emperor Wudi sent troops to destroy the Prince. When the prince died, people related to the prince, his son, his descendants and all his relatives, those who died, those who were in prison were all in prison. Among them, Sun Shang, the great emperor of Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty, is still in infancy, and Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty is not bad. He spared the child and was only demoted to a civilian. After the prince was abolished, the youngest son of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty succeeded to the throne, namely Emperor Zhao of the Han Dynasty. A few years later, Emperor Zhao Han died and no one succeeded to the throne. General Huo Guang was in charge of the imperial court at that time, so he took back his great-grandson who had been demoted to the people as emperor. This is Xuan Di of the Han Dynasty.
At this time, the great-grandson of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty has grown up and married a wife named Xu Pingjun. At that time, Huo Guang's wife wanted her youngest daughter to be queen, so she made Huo Guang a minister. When the imperial court discussed the establishment of a queen, many ministers recommended Huo Guang's youngest daughter to Xuan Di, but Xuan Di was unwilling to do so. Xuan Di knew that if Huo Guang's youngest daughter became a queen, it would mean that Huo Guang had planted spies beside him, so Xuan Di didn't agree or respond positively to the ministers' suggestions at that time, but said to the ministers, "I have been a civil servant for a while and I really want to use that as a civil servant." As soon as this sentence came out, ministers began to speculate on the emperor's psychology and found the emperor unforgettable. Finally, when the ministers talked about it, they all supported Xu Pingjun as the queen. The following year, Xu Pingjun was pregnant.
Huo Guang's wife wanted her daughter to be the queen's darling, but she didn't die. She knew that there was a waitress named Yuyan Chun in the palace who served the Queen. Yuyan Chun's men had received the favor of Huo Guang, and later they could be court guards, which was also the help of Huo Guang. But her man still wants a promotion, and wants to be a supervisor, so he lets his daughter-in-law go through the back door of Mrs. Huo Guang. Mrs Huo Guang agreed, but in exchange, Yuyan Chun poisoned Queen Xu. Sure enough, after giving birth to the child, Queen Xu took a tonic, which contained aconite. Aconite itself is nontoxic, but it is toxic when mixed with tonic. After drinking aconite tonic, the queen died of poisoning. Later, Huo Guang's wife finally replaced her youngest daughter as the queen. The story of "So Deep Sword" left a sad ending.
"Therefore, the sword is deep" means that you don't like the new and hate the old, which means that the husband and wife have deep feelings.
What do the people above do, and the people below?
-Excerpt from "Everything is done wrong, said the left"
During the Spring and Autumn Period, there was a soldier from Zou who was very particular about his clothes. Every time he changes clothes, he has to watch it by himself. In order to make his clothes different, he dropped some decorations on them, sometimes tassels and sometimes spikes; Sometimes embedded in the edge of clothes, sometimes embedded in the brim of hats, and sometimes hung behind the head. This is the so-called Zou Ying. When he goes out in such clothes, everyone thinks he is very stylish. As a result, men in Zou Jun imitated Zou Jun and put these decorations on their clothes, and the habit of wearing tassels continued. People in the street, especially young people, also imitate Zou Jun. Later, Zou Jun found out and asked his men, "Why do people wear such clothes now?" A janitor said to him, "I learned all this from you." You are an influential person, so everyone respects you. You can wear whatever clothes you like. If you feel bad, you have to start with you. "Later, Zou Jun cut off all the decorations on his clothes, and so did his subordinates and many ordinary people in the street. This is the origin of "Zou Ying".
Qi Zi told the story of Qi Huangong. Qi Huangong doesn't like to wear clothes of other colors, but only likes purple ones. Qi specially made purple satin and silk for him. Because Qi Huangong likes to wear purple, princes and ministers also wear purple clothes, and then people all over the country wear purple clothes. As a result, purple fabrics and silks and satins were all out of stock, and even Qi Huangong himself could not buy them. Qi Huangong asked the Prime Minister Guan Zhong, "What is this? How did the purple pop wind appear in China recently? " Guan Zhong replied, "Your Majesty, you don't know something. You took the lead. If you want to stop it, you must start with it. As long as you stop wearing purple clothes and even hate purple, wearing purple clothes will soon disappear. " So Qi Huangong never wears purple clothes again. People around you who want to wear purple clothes, Qi Huangong immediately face a heavy, let him go back to change other clothes. As a result, it didn't take long for Qi Huangong to solve the problem of purple clothes flooding.
Together, these two stories are the origin of "Zou Ying's Seven Sons", which is an upward-flowing metaphor.
Doctors buy donkeys, but there are no donkeys in three papers.
-Excerpt from Yan Jiaxun
The idiom "doctor buys donkey" and "three stories without donkey" come from the same ancient story.
In ancient times, there was a scholar who read too many books and especially liked to drop them. For example, walking in the street, others see this scholar and say hello to him: "Have you eaten?" He replied: "The husband who eats is a meal, and the meal is a meal. Farmers planted rice, farmers planted it and plowed it. Sow summer hoes in spring, harvest winter storage in autumn, and return grain and millet to warehouse all year round. " Who can stand this? ! Because he is always like this, some people just don't say anything when they see him, just nod their heads and go over. Afraid that one speaker will lead, he is not sure how much to say. Everyone secretly gave him a nickname-"Doctor", and the scholar became famous.
On this day, the "doctor" wanted to buy a donkey, so he went to the market and met a donkey seller. The two sides bargained and finally reached an agreement. The doctor is going to pay for the donkey. The donkey seller asked the "doctor" to write a contract for selling donkeys, and the donkey seller just had to make a bet. The two men went to a nearby shop and borrowed pens and paper from the owner. When the doctor began to write, he began with the dragon: "People are smoking, dragons are disruptive, dogs are vigil, chickens should crow early …" He counted the animal world one by one and wrote three pieces of paper, all of which are words, and the donkey seller. Finish it quickly, so that I can press my handprint. When I finish, I can leave. "Hearing this, the doctor was unhappy." How can it be finished so soon? I haven't written about the donkey yet! " "
This is the story of "the doctor bought the donkey". The "doctor" wrote three pieces of paper without mentioning the donkey, so this idiom can also be written as "three pieces of paper without the donkey", which means the same thing. They all describe that writing articles is all nonsense and irrelevant.
