The Life Experience of Sakyamuni Buddha

Sakyamuni's surname is Gautama and his first name is Siddhartha. Because he belongs to the Sakyamuni family, people also call him Sakyamuni, which means the sage of the Sakyamuni family. Sakyamuni lived in the middle of 6th century BC, that is, during the Spring and Autumn Period in China. Contemporary with Confucius, through Sakyamuni's life, we can see that although he was revered as a saint and admired by people for thousands of years, whether he was a man or not had doubts and pains before he gained consciousness. But he pushed the suffering of all beings with his own suffering, surpassing ordinary people, and thus produced a supreme sad desire for liberation. He abandoned all the wealth, throne, wife and children envied by ordinary people and resolutely became a monk. After six years of hard work, he finally got rid of all kinds of ignorant troubles, realized the truth of cosmic life and got a fundamental liberation.

The birthplace of Sakyamuni

More than 2,500 years ago, in the northwest of ancient India, at the foot of the Himalayas, there was a kingdom called Kapilovi (now Nepal). There were dense forests on the mountains, and the plains were rich in rice, and the grasslands were suitable for animal husbandry. It is a beautiful and rich place.

(Archaeological proof) One thousand kilometers to the west of this place is the Acropolis, the ancient capital of Sakyamuni people (there is no building now).

Conceive three dreams

In the kingdom of Kaplovi, the name of the king is Fan Jing, and the name of the queen is Moya.

Sudoku king and Maya queen have a good relationship, but they have been married for many years and have no children. Sudoku king is very upset because he has no heir to the throne. It was not until Sudoku King was 50 years old that Queen Maya became pregnant for the first time at the age of 45.

One day, while sleeping, Mrs. Moyev dreamed that a white elephant with six teeth flew out of the air and entered her body from her right rib. She suddenly felt safe and happy, like taking nectar and looking back at herself like the sun and the moon.

King suddhodana immediately summoned the ministers and asked the queen what the omen of her dream was. A brahmin diviner replied, "This dream is very good. The queen is pregnant and will give birth to a prince. The prince is an eternal saint and will surely shine on the people of Sakyamuni. " King suddhodana was overjoyed.

After conception, Mrs. Moyev was completely healthy and in a very happy mood. Since then, she has never been angry, cut off her greed and hypocrisy, and just likes to walk by the quiet Woods and streams every day. (Zabao Sutra II and Grand Solemnity Sutra XIV contain that Sakyamuni was a six-toothed white elephant in his last life. )

Four maternal deliveries

The days passed in joy, and the pregnant period of Queen Maya gradually became full in October. According to the custom of ancient India at that time, a woman had to go back to her mother's house when she gave birth to her first child, and her husband was not allowed to follow.

On a sunny day in late spring and early summer, Sudoku king reserved a sedan chair carried by two elephants for the king, and sent many ladies-in-waiting and courtiers to escort the queen back to her family's Tianbeicheng.
