What does Guanyin sign mean and how does Buddhism explain it?
Put a Guanyin sign in front of the Guanyin statue to indicate good or bad luck. There are two signs, one hundred and one hundred and thirty, contained in the third volume of Yi Shi men's orthodoxy. One hundred brands originated in Kannonji of Tianzhu Temple, and one hundred and thirty brands originated in Yuantong Temple in Yuehua.
Ding's Buddhist Dictionary explains "Guanyin Sign" as follows:
Before Guanyin, bamboo sticks are used to indicate good or bad luck. "Interpretation of Taoism for Three Times" said:' There are another hundred signs of Bodhisattva and one hundred and thirty signs of the moon, so as to determine the good and bad luck of the group. Sincerely praying is not bad. The storyteller is said to have been written by the incarnation of Bodhisattva, which is reasonable or possible. "Accordingly, there are two kinds of signboards: one hundred signboards in Kannonji of Tianzhu Temple and one hundred and thirty signboards in Yueyuantong Temple.
