What is the significance of a large number of Oracle Bone Inscriptions discovered in Xiaotun, Anyang, Henan Province in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China?

A notable feature of Shang culture is the use of characters. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, a large number of Oracle Bone Inscriptions engraved with divination characters were found in Xiaotun, Anyang, Henan Province, which proved that Chinese characters had been basically stereotyped in Shang Dynasty, and the most important features of Chinese characters, including sound, form and meaning in each single symbol, had also been formed.
