Aflp means Xunfeng.

Aflp refers to Xun Feng, an ancient divination language in China, which means southeast wind.

The word "Xun" here stands for wind, which means southeast wind. In genetic marker technology, "Xunfeng" is usually used to mark the genetic variation of loci, because it represents the southeast wind and has certain fluidity and instability.

Aflp has an acute onset and a dangerous condition, which seriously endangers the life safety of mothers and infants and easily leads to their death. AFLP is one of the important causes of acute liver failure during pregnancy. The incidence rate is 1/7000 ~ 1/20000, which mostly occurs in the third trimester with an average gestational age of 35 ~ 36 weeks.

The specific etiology and pathogenesis of the disease are still unclear. Its pathological characteristics are that a large number of hepatocytes are infiltrated by fat in a short period of time, without inflammation and necrosis, and the structure of hepatic lobules is normal. Because patients only have nonspecific symptoms such as nausea, fatigue and general malaise in the initial stage, they are easily ignored by obstetricians and patients.

However, the condition of the disease changes rapidly, and patients may have liver failure, progressive jaundice, coagulation dysfunction, acute renal failure and even death in a short time. Therefore, early diagnosis, timely termination of pregnancy and symptomatic support should be carried out as much as possible to reduce maternal and infant mortality.

Etiology and pathogenesis: The exact etiology and pathogenesis of AFLP are not clear, which may be related to the enzyme defect in the oxidation of mitochondrial fatty acids. The pathogenesis of AFLP is also related to the damage to mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation caused by abnormal maternal hormone level, oxidative stress, pathogenic microorganism infection and malnutrition, which may also be the cause of this disease.

Clinical manifestations:

The disease can occur at any time in the third trimester, with an average gestational age of 35-36 weeks. Most patients have nonspecific prodromal symptoms within days to weeks before diagnosis, including nausea, vomiting, anorexia, general weakness, headache and pain in the right upper abdomen, among which vomiting and abdominal pain are the most common, and polydipsia may also occur.

After the symptoms of digestive tract, jaundice appears, which gradually deepens and generally has no itching. The condition changes rapidly, accompanied by multi-system and multi-organ dysfunction: liver and renal failure, disseminated intravascular coagulation, gastrointestinal bleeding, oliguria, pre-eclampsia, tachycardia and disturbance of consciousness. When the condition is critical, it can progress to hepatic encephalopathy, coma, shock and even death.
