What are the three changes in the Book of Changes?

Lianshan Yi, Guizang Yi and Zhouyi are collectively called "Three Yi". The existing ancient wisdom and the laws of emperors in previous dynasties are just the Book of Changes. Regarding the "three changes", it is generally believed that Lianshan Yi, Guizang Yi and Zhouyi were formed in Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties respectively, of which Lianshan Yi was the earliest and Zhouyi was the latest.

Huan Tan, a scholar in the Eastern Han Dynasty, said in the New Classics: "There are 80,000 words in Lianshan, and 4,300 words are collected in Tibet (Qin bamboo slips). Introduction to Zhouyi:

Zhouyi includes two parts: classics and biography. Classics are divided into Beijing and Xia Jing. There are thirty in Shangshu, thirty in Xia Jing and one in Zhouyi. Sixty-four hexagrams evolved from the eight diagrams of doing, seeing, rooting, truth, training, reason, Kun and dui. Each hexagram consists of hanging pictures, titles, hexagrams and words.

According to legend, Fuxi created eight diagrams and sixty-four hexagrams eight thousand years ago. Around 1000 BC, Zhou Wenwang reinterpreted the sixty-four hexagrams' preface, collected the hexagrams' words which were passed down orally through the ages, and recorded them in words.
