In the above passage, Confucius thought that persevering people are the basis of being a good man, a gentleman and a saint, and finally put forward that persevering people should not behave.

The second place is the Lutz film. Confucius said, "There is a saying in the south:' A man without perseverance should not be a witch doctor.' Fu Shan! Don't keep virtue or be ashamed of it. Confucius said, "Don't take it."

Confucius said: "There is a saying in the south:' A person who has no perseverance can't even be a witch doctor, which is well said. "The epigram in the Book of Changes says:' People who are half-hearted and have no perseverance are bound to be humiliated. Confucius said, "There is no perseverance in this statement, so there is no need to make predictions."

Here, Confucius first quoted a sentence often said by southerners, and then quoted a sentence from the Book of Changes to illustrate the importance of perseverance. If one has no perseverance, there is no need for divination. If a person doesn't save himself, why does he ask God's will?

? Confucius did not discuss perseverance too much in The Analects, but thought it was the most basic quality of human beings. Only by perseverance can we enter the realm of gentleman in Confucius' mind.
