Why do most people in China "worship God" but don't "believe in God"?

Most people in China respect God, but don't believe in God. As far as I am a person without religious belief, I respect God because of a belief or God is worthy of respect, just like I don't believe in Buddhism, but I respect the God they believe in. I don't believe in God because we know that God can't give you everything you want because of your faith, and you can't guarantee peace without wealth. Just ask for an idea.
