Chicken hearts and duck hearts are considered to be the most valuable parts. As long as you do something good for the Miao people, celebrate a holiday, or get married and build a house, they will invite you home to kill chickens and ducks and entertain you. When eating, parents or the most prestigious elders in the same family will give you chicken and duck hearts with chopsticks. However, you can't eat the funeral right away. You must share the customs of the Miao family with the old people present, otherwise, you will lose the trust of the Miao family.

The most distinctive dish in Miao diet is "salted fish". They soak big and full soybeans, then grind them in a stone mill, water them while grinding, and the crushed soybeans flow into raw soybean milk. Then they filter raw soybean milk with gauze, cook it slowly in a pot, take it out and put it on a wooden mold to suppress tofu. Then they cut vegetables such as green vegetables into pieces, pour them in while the soybean milk is still hot and not completely solidified, cook them with soybean milk, add seasonings such as salt, take them out after the soybean milk cools and solidifies into tofu, and put them in.
