The word "Fu" evolved from hieroglyphics, meaning "blessing" or "happiness".

People in China like to use this word and often put it on the doors of houses or shops, hoping that "good luck" or "wealth" will come. The meaning of this word goes far beyond material richness. The archaic structure of this word has a "water", which means "god" or "spirit"-that is, "spirit" stands on the left, and "water" literally means "display". When used as an independent character, it is written as "display" and read as "yes". The "sign" is the hieroglyphics of the altar. Ancient people approached the altar in order to get guidance and inspiration from God. Later, the meaning of this pictograph was extended to "revelation", and when it was used as a radical, it represented God.
