A history book is a record of what happened in history. Why only Sima Qian's Historical Records recorded the princes who made bonfires?
From the beginning, it was said that there were two dragons in the Xia Dynasty, which stopped in front of the Xia Emperor, saying that they were two kings who praised the country. Later, Emperor Xia left the dragon's saliva in a box through divination. After the Three Dynasties, Zhou Liwang couldn't help opening the box, and the saliva disappeared in a maid-in-waiting who was only 7-8 years old. Then in Zhou Xuanwang's time, the maid-in-waiting gave birth to a girl without a husband. The maid-in-waiting was afraid and abandoned her, and then a ballad began to spread. Then the people who did these two jobs began to flee to avoid being killed, and it happened that a couple who did this saw the baby girl on the way to escape and adopted her. Three people fled to the country of praise, and then this baby girl was a praise. It can be seen from this antecedent that this is a proper fairy tale, so why did Sima Qian write this story?
First of all, through Historical Records, we can know that Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty abolished Prince Wei when Sima Qian wrote Historical Records. This story may be about Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty in disguise. After all, Sima Qian could not directly scold Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty in the book, so he adopted this method.
In addition to historical records, other historical materials only recorded that Zhou Youwang indulged in praising the prince, abandoned the prince and fled with the princes, colluded with the dog Rong, invaded Haojing, destroyed Zhou Youwang, and succeeded to the throne with the appropriate mortar. At the same time, the Zhou royal family also existed in name only, and the princes were no longer afraid of the Zhou royal family. Sima Qian estimated that it was fornication and national subjugation, and it was ominous to abolish the prince.
