A book about copper coins
Ancient Money was collected by Zhong Sun and published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House. It was first published in 1990 and reprinted many times. The biggest feature of this book is that it is divided into topics and easy to understand, covering copper coins, copper coins, paper money, gold and silver coins and so on. Finally, it is quite good as an introductory reading. This book is also one of my introductory guidebooks.
A Concise Dictionary of Ancient Coins was compiled by Gao Hanming and published by Jiangsu Ancient Books Publishing House. It was first published 1990 and reprinted many times. It has the same characteristics as Zhu Huo's Dictionary of Ancient Money, adding some expensive materials and the names, authors and abstracts of works on coins in past dynasties.
Introduction to Ancient Chinese Coins, edited by Gao Yingmin and Zhang Jingan, was published by Geological Publishing House, the first edition 1996. This book looks a bit like a popular coin romance. Combined with the historical and social situation at that time, the author summarized the development of coins. If you look at the relevant coins in kind, it will be tasteless. At the end of this book, the prices of some coins are indicated, which is of little reference value.
Introduction to Coinology was compiled by Shanghai Coin Society, with history as the chief editor. Published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House. The first edition is 1995. Mr. Peng Xinwei's Coinology is the first history of coins in China. Unfortunately, I haven't bought this book or read it, so I can't compare it at will. The Outline of Coinage gives a brief introduction to coins in different periods, but the content is too greedy and rough.
Bamboo Slips edited by Sun Zhonghui, Shi Xinbiao, Glory, Hu Wei and Huang Ximing were published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House. This book is so famous that I don't need to introduce it to you. It was first published in 199 1 and reprinted five times in the same year 12, which also shows that this book was published at that time.
Illustration of Ancient Coins by Sun Zhonghui and Hu Wei was published by Shanghai Bookstore in August, 1989. It has been reprinted many times. This book is divided into two parts. The first part introduces the emergence and evolution of currency in China, the coinage and circulation of coins in different dynasties and the related knowledge about coins. The second part is coin rubbings. Probably because of limited capacity, this book contains few general products, and even some outlines are not included.
Appraisal and Maintenance of Ancient Coins was edited by Shanghai Coin Society and published by Shanghai Translation and Publishing Company. It was first published in June, 1985, 1 1, and was reprinted many times. This book focuses on the identification and appraisal of coins, and briefly introduces the method of edition classification. The feature of this book is to introduce the ancient coinage technology and characteristics. This is a very good reference book. You should read this book, which is about the spring river at the beginning of Jian.
Catalogue of Ancient Currency in China (Volume III) by Hua Guangpu, published by Hunan People's Publishing House, first edition 1993. Hua Guangpu is a figure with many comments in the Spring Circle at present, and there are different opinions. Personally, I think Mr. Hua Guangpu has played a great role in promoting the monetization of ancient coins. Although his classification and pricing of many coins are not very right or wrong, I think it is flawed. Mr. Hua Guangpu's Catalogue of Ancient Chinese Coins has been published in many versions, and the price is adjusted once a year or several years (all in one volume). I think this kind of thing.
Introduction to the Identification of Ancient Chinese Coins, by Zhang Zhizhong, published by Knowledge Publishing House, 1st edition 1993. Although Zhang Zhizhong and I are surnamed Zhang, we should be a family, but I have to say that this book is extremely poor in picture, inaccurate in grading, and has no reference value at all.
In addition, there are many books published by so-called experts on the market, most of which are of poor quality and full of mistakes. I suggest you choose carefully when buying books. Here, I recommend the Concise Dictionary of Ancient Coins (or Small Dictionary of Ancient Coins), Appraisal and Maintenance of Ancient Coins, Catalogue of Chinese Ancient Coins (three volumes) and Concise Dictionary of Coins to all friends who are new to Quanhe.
