What does the death of Xuanwu mean?

Things are in an uncertain state, as if they were dead and out of control. "Xuanwu" is one of the four images in China traditional culture, symbolizing the north and winter. It is usually considered as a symbol of yin, darkness, cold and dampness, while "empty death" refers to emptiness, nothingness and non-existence.
