The holy grail of Chaoshan is a pair of cups.

In Chaoshan folk beliefs, anyone who asks for a visa needs to throw a confirmation to the gods. "Ren Bei" is called "Cup" for short, so "Touren" in Chaozhou dialect is also called "Postscript Cup".

However, cups are not only used in temples. Those who have ancestors at home often have a pair of cups. If you ask a question to a god who just died, you can't use a "cup", you can only use two coins. When sweeping graves, you can use two identical coins instead when you need them temporarily.
