Tang Bin, a clean and honest cabinet bachelor, was appointed as the governor of Jiangning (Jiangsu) in the 23rd year of Kangxi (1684). Because Pearl is greedy for ink, all the goods at home are piled up in bribes, leading a luxurious life. There are thousands of concubines and maids, whose clothing, food, housing and transportation are all imitated by Jiangnan giants. He also built large-scale buildings, widely managed gardens, pavilions and pavilions, and inlaid walls with white jade flowers between the wind gallery and the waterside pavilion. There is a 10 mu lake in the garden. In winter, colorful silk is cut into lotus flowers and water chestnuts floating in the water, and feathers are woven into wild ducks and geese swimming in the lake. Kangxi heard about Pearl's corruption and warned him many times. Pearl committed many illegal acts and was finally punished.
