Brief introduction of Yao nationality's long drum dance

China Yao folk dance. Popular in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan and other provinces where Yao people live in compact communities, they often perform at traditional Yao festivals, harvest celebrations, housewarming or weddings. Yao's Long Drum Dance has a long history, and it is often danced in traditional sacrificial ceremonies and some witchcraft activities to exorcise ghosts and evil spirits, cure diseases and divination. Now, Yao's Long Drum Dance has become a mass entertainment activity. On June 7th, 2008, Yao Changgu was approved by the State Council to be included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
