Tazhong Town Tarim Desert Highway Center

Tazhong Town is located in the middle of Taklimakan Desert on Tarim Desert Highway, with the same distance from Luntai in the north and Minfeng in the south. In the middle of Tarim desert highway, the original intention of this desert highway may be built for the development of Tarim oilfield, so the logo of PetroChina can be seen everywhere. With the changes of the times, Tarim oil has been developed more and more deeply into the hinterland of the desert, and with the outbreak of tourism in Xinjiang, this road crossing the Taklimakan desert from north to south has also become a world-renowned online celebrity road.

There is a small town where the desert highway crosses the Tarim River. As another town, Tazhong is the second stop on this route. We don't know whether this tower is an existing town or a town built along the highway. We think the second possibility is more likely. Xiaotazhong Town is really small. At the intersection of three roads, two hotels and restaurants are the biggest part of the town. There is only one PetroChina gas station in Fiona Fang hundreds of kilometers away, but now it is not a problem for ordinary vehicles to fill up 5,600 kilometers. The gas station mainly refuels trucks coming from south to north, and ordinary tourists basically fill up the gas in the county towns at the north and south ends of the desert highway. This town is a guarantee base for road maintenance and oil exploration. Most of the buildings are either PetroChina or the highway system, and the hotel we stayed in seems to be the highway system.

Tazhong Town is surrounded by desert for environmental protection. A few tall poplars in the town may be the few trees in Fiona Fang within hundreds of miles. Looking at the small town on the high sand dunes outside the town, it is really a boat in the sand.

Today's weather is really bad. The whole space is gray and the dazzling sunset is shrouded in dust. Although the ground can't feel the dust all over the sky, there may be more dust in the air, and the desert sunset I once expected has also failed.
