Discuss the evolutionary relationship between insects and flowers?

Plants rely on insects to spread pollen to pistils for fertilization, and provide nectar and pollen to attract insects. Insects such as butterflies and bees feed on nectar or pollen.

Insects will evolve special structures (such as the hairs on the feet of bees, the sacs for collecting honey, and the long sucking mouthparts of butterflies) to suck nectar and transmit pollen.

Flowers will also evolve special structures (such as nectar at the bottom of long flowers, which butterflies can suck with long mouthparts) to adapt to the spread of insects and collect honey.

The more classic ones are figs and fig wasps. Fertilized female fig wasps carry pollen and burrow into the closed female flowers of figs, where they reproduce and die. Newborn wasps drill a small hole, leaving figs for the next round of reproduction.

Co-evolved to such an extent that figs can't be fertilized without fig wasps, and female fig wasps can't lay eggs without figs.
