Ancient rock paintings were discovered in Tongbai Mountain, Suizhou, which experts called the mysterious "heavenly book" in Shennong period.

This stone is engraved with mysterious patterns.
Shennong Tribal Scenic Area, Longquan Village, Huaihe Town, Sui County, is located in the north-south boundary line of China (the source of Huaihe River), which is the remaining vein of Tongbai Mountain at the junction of Hubei and Henan, and is 1 km away from the entrance of Huaihe Station of Suiyue Expressway.
Driving in the mountains in summer, the original breath comes to my face. The gurgling stream is hidden in the mountains, and the newly built highway into the mountains sometimes climbs to the top of the mountain and sometimes rushes down the valley. A rabbit suddenly appeared in the middle of the road, looked back and forth in panic and got into the bushes.
Cheng Feng, manager of Shennong tribe, said that the rock paintings of Tongbai Mountain, known as "Shennong Tianshu", are hidden on these rocks on the hillside and by the water.
Next to the Moon God Sacrifice Square in the scenic spot, there is a stone house that looks like a crescent moon from a distance, and the roof is thatched with horns and bone wood. The interior space consists of several groups of stones.
Cheng Feng said that these rock paintings were the first places where Tongbai Mountain rock paintings were discovered. At that time, these stones were in the bushes on both sides of the mountain road. Later, in order to protect the site, the surrounding area was widened into a square, and houses were built while retaining the original form.
In Sun Temple Square, a few kilometers away from here, there is a stone carving, which looks like a human head, wearing a crown, big eyes and majesty. "Experts say this is a statue of the sun," said Cheng Feng.
According to experts, the so-called rock painting refers to the floorboard of colored paintings and line carvings existing in caves, cliffs or independent rocks. It uses stone tools and pigments to describe and record the production mode, life content and ideas of our ancestors through stone carving or painting. It is an artistic resource left over from the long history of mankind and a precious cultural heritage.

Accidental discovery in mountain cutting and road building
"The discovery of the rock paintings in Tongbai Mountain is accidental," said zhaowei, the discoverer of the rock paintings and the chairman of Shennong Tribal Tourism Development Company.
20 15, Zhao Wei, a successful entrepreneur in Suixian County, was invited by the leaders of Huaihe Town in Suixian County to return to his hometown to support the construction of beautiful countryside in Huaihe Town and prepare to develop rural tourism in Longquan Village.
In the process of cutting mountains and building roads, Zhao Wei came across many rocks with regularly arranged caves, some of which even had portraits and other patterns. Having studied ancient cultural relics, he suddenly had a question: Are these things rock paintings left by ancient human activities?
So, I photographed the caves and patterns on these stones and found Bao, then the president and vice chairman of the Yanhuang Culture Research Association. Bao Guo Yi was very excited after reading it. He immediately asked someone to contact Zhang Yasha, a professor at Minzu University of China and director of China Rock Painting Research Center, and passed the photos taken by Zhao Wei.
Shortly after receiving the pictures from Suizhou, China Rock Painting Research Center of Minzu University of China explicitly replied that the caves and patterns in these photos belong to the category of "rock paintings". Since then, Zhao Wei has spent two or three years visiting nearby mountains, and indeed found many similar rock paintings.
The imprint on the stone deep in the mountains turned out to be a cultural relic with research value, which made the local people a little incredible.

"When we were young, we ran to the mountains to play and saw these strange things carved on stones." Lao Yu said that no one was in charge at that time, thinking that the herdsmen were bored and playing marbles with concave holes in the stone.
Zeng Zhaotong, the former branch secretary of Longquan Village, is the person who introduced Zhao Weilai's investment. He said that up to now, Zhao Wei has invested hundreds of millions of yuan in this project, which will be put into operation.

Experts call it "Shennong Tianshu"
When and by whom were these rock paintings made? Is it unique to Tongbai Mountain? What message do they convey?
Since 20 15, waves of experts have come to Suizhou Archaeology to study this precious historical relic.
20 17 Robert Bednarik, president of the world rock painting Federation, and other experts came to Hubei to inspect rock paintings. They believe that the discovery of rock paintings in Tongbai Mountain fills the gap in the Central Plains where there are no portraits of rock paintings. It is a very important historical relic and must be protected. In 20 18, Zhang Yasha, director of China Rock Painting Research Center of Minzu University of China, and his party made a detailed investigation of Suizhou Rock Painting for 15 days together with Suixian Cultural Management Agency and relevant personnel of Shennong Tribal Scenic Area. Through scientific and standardized shooting, drawing, measurement and field records, the manuscript of Suizhou Rock Painting Investigation Report was written and formed, and detailed electronic files were established for 59 rock paintings, more than 100 rock paintings and more than 1900 individual rock paintings. As a result, Tongbaishan Rock Painting (Suizhou Rock Painting) officially has its own scientific "hukou", which provides detailed, accurate and scientific first-hand information for experts and scholars at home and abroad to further study Tongbaishan Rock Painting (Suizhou Rock Painting).
Robert Bednarik is at the archaeological site.

Experts infer that the remains of rock paintings in Tongbai Mountain in Suizhou are shaped like Luoshu River Map, like the stars of heaven and earth, with sacred worship of the sun and the moon, as well as primitive maternal worship and reproductive worship. These mysterious stone carvings and rock paintings are collectively called "Shennong Tianshu".
According to the research of relevant institutions in Beijing, a large number of ring ditch relics and other descriptions in Tongbai Mountain appeared between 4000 and 6000 years ago, in the era of Emperor Yan and Shennong. The terrain here is relatively high, overlooking the Huaihe River and Tongbai Mountain, and it is an excellent place for ancient ancestors to hold sacrifices. Sacrificing the sun here is a sacrifice to Emperor Yan.
In addition, from the ancient production background, it is proved that a large number of caves here are also related to "drilling wood for fire". The ancient ancestors made fire by drilling wood, which extended the hole-making technology made by stone tools. This also reflects that at that time, on the banks of the source of Huaihe River, the productivity had reached a certain level, far exceeding that of other areas in the same period.
There are still different views on the cultural connotation of Tongbaishan rock paintings. At present, there are mainly religious sacrifices, reproductive worship, stone carvings, the origin of characters, the worship of the sun, the moon and the sky, the symbol of shaman, the symbol of divination, the symbol of prayer, and military deployment. It needs further study by experts and scholars.
As the discoverer of Suizhou rock paintings, Zhao Wei said: "I was originally a developer of rural tourism, and my strange encounter with rock paintings made me a discoverer, researcher and disseminator of rock painting culture." He hopes to do his best to protect, study and make good use of these precious cultural heritages, and to pass on Yan Di Shennong culture from generation to generation.
