Mongolians mainly live in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and there are more than 50 ethnic groups including Mongolia, Han, Hui, Manchu, Daur, Ewenki, Oroqen and Korea. In 2005, the total population of this region was 23.86 million, including 4,265,438+0,000 Mongolians.
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is located in the northern frontier of China, with a straight line distance of more than 2,400 kilometers from east to west, a span of more than 1.700 kilometers from north to south, and an area of1.83 million square kilometers, accounting for about 1.2% of the total land area of China. The whole region is dominated by plateaus, including the vast Inner Mongolia Plateau and Ordos Plateau. The mountains from east to west are Daxing 'anling, Yinshan and Helan Mountain. The grassland area in the whole region is 8700 hectares, and the usable grassland area is 6800 hectares, accounting for 1/5 of the usable grassland area in the whole country. Sheep and cattle are the main herds, followed by horses and camels.
