According to The Journey to the West's records, it took the Tang Priest fourteen years to learn the scriptures. In the thirteenth year of Zhenguan, Guanyin Bodhisattva, who was rescued by Tang Priest, became enlightened. He accepted two treasures from Guanyin, Jin Lan's cassock and Nine Rings Zhang Xi, bid farewell to Emperor Taizong and went to the Western Heaven to learn Buddhist scriptures.
