What is Sharjah?

Shaga is an animal's ankle bone.

Shaga refers to the ankle and talus of animals, commonly known as "Yangguai" in Chinese and "Garaha" in Manchu. Sharjah is wide and narrow, convex and concave, positive and lateral, and hexagonal. Mongolians are named after five kinds of animals "horse, cow, sheep, goat and camel" in animal husbandry, which has also become the basis of skills and tricks in Shaga games.

Shaga games take children as the main body, and use their hands and brains in flexible game activities to let children fully experience the fun of the game and the joy of exploration. It plays an obvious role in promoting children's comprehensive and healthy physical and mental development, improving children's attention, memory, imagination and creativity, and enhancing their ability of unity, cooperation and social interaction.

The origin of the name

Galaha is a transliteration of Manchu, Xibe and Ewenki. It is called Shaga in Mongolian, Sac in Dari, Althukuqi in Oroqen and Bilaohei and Hezhe. Manchu pronunciation was translated into gachuha, and the official Chinese writing in Qing Dynasty was "back bone". Originally, it refers to an independent bone at the knee of an animal's hind leg and the joint between the leg bone and the tibia, called talus, which is found in almost square, odd-hoofed and even-hoofed animals.

An animal has two talus, and the convex surface of each talus faces forward and inward; The concave surface faces backward and outward. The talus of sheep was compared with that of pigs, cows and horses. Sheep are regular, pigs are slightly longer, cows are rough, and horses grow up. Galahad has four faces, which are named belly, pit, donkey and anvil according to their shapes.

Garaha is generally a cuboid with two large faces, two long faces and two small faces, and its shape is irregular. In general, only four larger faces are played in the game. Different regions and nationalities have different names for each face, such as "true/true/straight", "wheel/back/turn", "shell/pit" and "belly".
