How to open a bottle of red wine

Cut the lead seal under the circle protruding from the bottle mouth with a knife. You can choose the protruding part above the bottle neck or the lower part of the protruding part to cut the lead seal, so as to prevent the wine from touching the lead seal when pouring. The bottle mouth is generally dirty, especially when the wine has been aged in the wine cellar for a period of time, so it must be wiped clean with a clean white napkin.

Insert the screw of the bottle opener into the center of the cork and turn it slowly. For example, with a butterfly-shaped bottle opener, when the screw gradually enters the cork, the handles on both sides will gradually rise. When the handle reaches the apex, gently pull down and pull out the cork.

Pull down the handle so that the claws at the other end can buckle the bottle mouth, then slowly lift the handle and pull out the cork.

After pulling out the cork, it depends on whether the cork is wet. If it is wet, it means that this bottle of wine has been preserved correctly, so the possibility of deterioration will be greatly reduced. In addition, we should further smell the cork to see if it smells bad.

When opening a bottle, if the cork breaks, use a "clip-on bottle opener" to clip it out.

Matters needing attention

The spiral iron cone of the bottle opener pulls the cork up smoothly and slowly to avoid damaging the wine during opening.

The iron cone must not penetrate the cork, otherwise the cork will fall into the wine.

Opening a bottle a few hours before drinking will improve the quality, especially red wine, which will become more round and supple and easy to eat.

Choosing the right bottle opener, improper bottle opener or clumsy bottle opening skills will damage the cork.
