Introduction to Halloween English

Halloween is an autumn festival celebrated by Americans every year. It means "holy night", every year1October 3 1 day, the night before Halloween. However, it is not a real church festival, it is mainly a children's festival.

Every autumn, when vegetables are ready to eat, children will choose big orange pumpkins. Then they carved their faces on the pumpkin and put a burning candle in it. It looks as if someone is looking out of the pumpkin! These lights are called Jack-o-lanterns, which means "Jack of lanterns".

Every Halloween, children will wear strange masks and scary costumes. Some children painted their faces as monsters. Then they go door to door with boxes or bags. Whenever they come to a new house, they say, "Trick or treat! Money is still eaten! " Adults put gifts or candy in their bags.

Not only children, but also most adults like Halloween and Halloween parties, because on this day, they can disguise themselves as characters or ghosts according to their own imagination. This brings them a sense of youthful satisfaction.
