How to treat divination of Yijing?

China's divination is mainly divided into two schools. One is the "magic number" with heavenly stems and earthly branches as the basic symbol, which originated from ancient astronomy in China; The other is the Book of Changes, with eight diagrams as the basic symbol, which originated from the divination of tortoise shells and animal bones in ancient times.

The Book of Changes is an eternal mystery, and no one can fully understand it. Although Zhouyi is used for divination, strictly speaking, Zhouyi is not a tool for divination. There is no systematic divination theory and method, and it is not only used as Oracle Bone Inscriptions. Although its eight diagrams symbol is used for divination, the eight diagrams itself is a scale symbol for measuring the sky and does not have the essence of divination. In other words, the Book of Changes and divination are independent individuals, and divination in the Book of Changes is just a way to combine them.

Although The Book of Changes is not a book of divination, in my opinion, as far as China's divination is concerned, there is nothing better than The Book of Changes.

Divination is the act of seeking inevitable conclusions from random events. I think, between heaven and earth, there is no escape from the constraints of natural laws and social civilization. So there are certain rules to follow, and sometimes we can speculate-I think this is the scientific nature of divination. The Book of Changes, as a national study, has always been known as "the head of the group classics and the source of a hundred schools of thought". Astronomy comes first, geography comes second, and personnel is in the middle, which has a great influence on the politics, economy and culture of China in past dynasties, and even affects the nationality and national spirit of China people. Using the Book of Changes as a tool for divination is very inclusive and can accommodate countless variables. It conforms to the laws of heaven and earth and the national culture of China, so I said that the Book of Changes is the best divination in China. The Book of Changes is also the only ceremony of Li Zhousan, which was founded by Fuxi and perfected by Zhou Wenwang, Duke Zhou and Confucius, and became the foundation of the philosophy of Yin-Yang and Five Elements in later generations. As far as time is concerned, the origin of divination is earlier than Zhouyi. China's divination can't be traced back to the Book of Changes, which is the so-called "following the ancestors". These connections also make the Yijing divination more acceptable to Chinese people. Divination of the Book of Changes is only a small use of the Book of Changes. Because of its connection with the Book of Changes, divination in the Book of Changes can also be called a difficult knowledge. There are many people outside who are using the signboard of the Book of Changes to predict fortune, but not many people can really see the path of the Book of Changes, let alone the master.

Personally, I think it's better to be skeptical about divination. Everything is changeable. The Yi-San theory of Yi-ology is simple, easy and difficult. Zhouyi itself is a vague concept. Either everything or nothing, so we don't need to be persistent. In my imagination, the real master of divination should reach the realm of "winning without tricks" described by Mr. Jin Yong in his martial arts novels. Plants, trees and stones can be divined in any form.
