Who are the legendary "Huang San" and "Five Emperors"?

The legendary "Huang San" refers to Fuxi, Nuwa and Suiren; "Five Emperors" refer to Huangdi, Zhuan Xu Emperor, Di Ku, Yaodi and Shun Di.

Fuxi ranks first in Huang San, and Fuxi era is a period of transition for the Chinese nation from matriarchal clan society to paternal clan society. It is said that Fuxi is a snake with a human head. According to the changes of everything in the world, he also invented divination gossip, created characters and ended the history of knotting.

Fuxi also formulated the marriage system of human beings, and implemented the binary system of men and women, from the original female to male, ending the primitive group marriage state that children only knew their fathers.

So Fuxi is also known as the humanistic ancestor of the Chinese nation.

Legend has it that Suiren invented drilling wood to make fire, and then taught great families to cook food with torches, which ended the bloody life of ancient humans who ate animals raw and started a new era of Chinese civilization, and was regarded as the "ancestor of fire" by later generations.

Because most of the wood used for lighter is flint, people call him flint.

Nu Wa is the goddess of creation in China ancient mythology, and there are many legends about her. The earliest legends are the goddess of mending heaven, Nu Wa creating human beings and so on.

So Fuxi, Suirenshi and Nu Wa became Huang San.

Because after the Yellow Emperor and Yan Emperor formed an alliance, they conquered Chiyou and finally captured and killed Chiyou alive, so other tribes in the Yangtze River valley surrendered one after another. Therefore, when the Yellow Emperor met the governors of the world, he was elected as the master of the world and completed the immortal feat of unifying China.

The Yellow Emperor also formulated the unified totem of the Chinese nation. Totem takes snake as the body, fish scales as scales, lion's head, antlers, talons and tortoise's tail. This totem representing the great unity of all tribes is called "Dragon". We say that the Chinese nation is a descendant of the dragon, which stems from this. Therefore, the Yellow Emperor is also honored as the head of the Five Emperors.

The Yellow Emperor is the children of Fuxi and Nuwa, and Zhuan Xu, Di Ku, Yao and Shun are also the direct descendants of the Yellow Emperor. These four emperors also made great contributions in history.

So Huangdi, Zhuan Xu, Di Ku, Yaodi and Shun are called the Five Emperors.
