How to read eight diagrams

We opened the Book of Changes and saw sixty-four hexagrams, consisting of six horizontal lines from the bottom right to the top. There are two kinds of horizontal lines, one becomes "Yang" (1) and the other becomes "Yin" (? - -? )。 Yang Yao represents the main force, while Yin Yao represents the subordinate force. The three horizontal lines of Yin and Yang constitute the basic gossip.

Why three hexagrams? Because they symbolize "earth, man and heaven" and are combined into six hexagrams, we should pay special attention to "bottom-up" when drawing and reading hexagrams.

Bagua formula

If you can't remember the above picture, you can use the formula to remember: dry three links, Kun six breaks, shake the bowl, root (root) covers the bowl, gap is empty, ridge is full, intersection is missing, Xun breaks.

Let's take the dry divination in innate gossip as an example. All six are yang. In reading, from bottom to top, it should be read as "Grade 9, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5 and Grade 9". "One, two, three, four, five, up" stands for position. "Nine" stands for Yang. Take Kun Gua as an example, which is read from bottom to top as "six days, sixty-two, sixty-three, sixty-four, sixty-five and sixty-six", and "six" stands for Yin. Nine is yang and six is yin. Every poem has a corresponding verse, as can be seen from the book.
