There are many schools of Taoism in Maoshan now. Which is the real source?

Maoshan School, also known as Shangqing School, was named after it was founded in Maoshan. With the dispersion of disciples and different practice methods, Maoshan School gradually evolved into six schools, namely Wei Qing, Zhengyi and Quanzhen. However, if we go back to the original point, the orthodox school is the real source of the Maoshan school.

In the ancient history of China, there were four wonders: astrology, Maoshan, poisoning and Daoism. Among them, Maoshan Shu is well known to us because of Ching-Ying Lam's early zombie movies. We can often see that in movies, maoshan taoist chanted symbols and wrote scriptures to exorcise common people, and then in today's exorcism, the division of exorcism families in Mamaoshan, South Maobei was gradually formed. However, we often ignore that Maoshan originated from Taoism, and most of the earliest practitioners were Taoists. Maoshan art originated from Shangqing school. If you only hear the Qing school, you will feel little different from our zombie movies, and you will often think of tasks such as "too old gentleman". In fact, this kind of imagination is completely correct. Shangqing School is the school of cultivating immortals founded by Laojun. The main cultivation contents of the Shangqing school are spells, symbols, footwork, array method, fixed hands and so on. But in modern zombie movies, these skills are greatly limited. The spell of the Qing school became a special spell to subdue monsters, and the spell became a spell with only ghosts and zombies. Such a limited thought makes Maoshan School deviate from its original cultivation and gradually become an exorcist today.

Zhengyi School is the source because it still retains most of the practical achievements of Shang Qing School, and the source of practice has not changed. When it comes to orthodoxy, many people will think of the Dragon and Tiger Mountain Orthodoxy in Under One Man. Among them, old Shi Tian's Guangjin mantra and Five Thunder teachings are actually orthodox spells of the Shangqing school, and even the Eight Wonders triggered by Shi Tian degree are actually evolved according to the skills of the Shangqing school. Other sects were actually later branches of the Orthodox Church.
