Thoughts on Reading Huai Nan Zi

Huai Nan Zi, also known as Huainan Lie Hong, was written by Liu An in the Western Han Dynasty. Because I studied ancient literature this semester and was deeply attracted by ancient myths and anecdotes, I found this book in the library. It's a vernacular version with fascinating illustrations. Every time I see an illustrated explanation, it seems that I have returned to that ancient society with a simple atmosphere and profound cultural heritage.

This book focuses on Taoism, involving philosophy, politics, ethics, history, economy, military science and so on. The book * * * has 12 volumes. The first volume is Tao Xun's original work, which mainly expounds and explores the law of the formation of all things. Among them, the gossip created by Fuxi attracted me the most. When I mention this ancient figure, I have to talk about my hometown, the Taihao Mausoleum in Huaiyang, which was specially built for Fuxi. Now, with the opening of my hometown, it has become a national cultural scenic spot. I am really proud of my hometown! Eight diagrams are arranged in eight directions: north-south, east-west, southwest, northeast, northwest and southeast, which is the completion of ancient alchemists' divination. Everything in the world can be predicted only by line segments, which shows how admirable the wisdom of the ancients is.

Another major feature of this book is the combination of narrative and discussion, and its conception is rigorous. For example, the second volume, Empresses in the Palace, discusses the changing law of natural occurrence and termination, and distinguishes the relationship between life and death. The narrative of Dayu's water control story is refreshing to readers. He wrote that the water control method adopted by Dayu's father's gun was blocking. How could the rolling flood be submerged by water? Dayu, on the other hand, according to the development law of water potential, adopted the dredging method of digging stones and lifting soil, followed the direction of water flow and guided him to determine the key points, thus alleviating the flood. In addition, the description of fairy tales is vivid and desirable. Hou Ji, the ancestor of the Zhou Dynasty, turned out to be his mother Jiang Yuan, that is, his wife. It sounds incredible in modern times. She got pregnant when she saw a giant step on it. However, when you think about the origin of China culture, you are not disgusted with her distortion, but more willing to accept it, aren't you? Writers are one of the charms of China's ancient myths.

Volume four is a chapter on terrain training, which discusses the length of the north and south, the width of the east and the west, the trend of mountains and rivers, and the deep valleys of mountains and rivers, so that people can reach the God of Zhou without being moved by foreign objects. It involves geographical divisions before the Han Dynasty, such as Jiusan, namely: Huiji Mountain, Taishan Mountain, Wuwang Mountain, Shoushan Mountain, Taihua Mountain, Qishan Mountain, Taihang Mountain, Yangchang Mountain and Mengmen Mountain; The six waters are: Yellow River, Chishui, Liaoshui, Heishui, Jiang Shui and Huaishui; The four animals are: Oriental Dragon, Western White Tiger, South Suzaku and North Xuanwu. In addition, there are Kyushu, Jiuze and Feng Ba. The appearance of these nouns provides a basis for the location selection in some novels of later generations, and also helps us to understand the ancient geographical information of China to some extent, so that people can benefit from it.

The other volumes in the book tell the story of how to capture enemy lines and defeat the enemy in ancient times. Explaining the word training is an interpretation of the Taoist thought of inaction. Human training mainly examines the change of fate and the mutual transformation of interests, and reveals the replacement relationship between the end and bud of things. In a word, this is a masterpiece worth spending time and energy to savor. Although my current reading accumulation is not qualified for evaluation, I will make persistent efforts and read widely!
