Gossip is a way of explaining nature in ancient China. Eight trigrams respectively represent eight attributes, namely dryness, Kun, earthquake, smoke, depression, profit, root and right, and symbolize eight natural phenomena, such as heaven, earth, thunder, wind, water, fire, mountains and ze, so as to infer the changes of nature and society.

In the Eight Diagrams, each hexagram has its own name, indicating its position in the Eight Diagrams. Eight diagrams are combined into sixty-four hexagrams, representing various affairs.

Eight diagrams are divided into inner and outer hexagrams. The inner divination represents the internal changes and development of things, while the outer divination represents the influence and function of the surrounding environment on things. In divination, the inner divination represents the factors of things themselves, while the outer divination represents the external factors.

In the Eight Diagrams, dry hexagrams represent heaven, Kun hexagrams represent earth, earthquake hexagrams represent thunder, Kun hexagrams represent wind, Kan hexagrams represent water, leaving hexagrams represents fire, Gen hexagrams represent mountains, and exchanging hexagrams represents Ze.

In divination, both the inner divination and the outer divination of gossip need to be judged according to divination. For example, divination marriage, if the divination result is dry divination, it means that the marriage is progressing smoothly, but if the divination result is Kun divination, it means that the marriage is progressing more difficultly.

It should be noted that gossip is only an explanation of ancient China, and it cannot predict future events completely and accurately.
