Who founded Nongjiao?

Agricultural religion originated in Baiyue, which is a primitive religion in Zhejiang. As early as ancient times, before the Yanhuang tribe entered the Central Plains, Baiyue people living in the southeast coast (Huiji to Jiao Jiao) had already produced their own primitive religion-agricultural religion (there was no name for agricultural religion at that time, and "agricultural religion" was the name formed after the Central Plains people moved south).

Yue people are good at shipbuilding, drainage and land life, and have the ability of long-distance navigation. They build buildings with bamboo and hang in the air. They can raise pigs, cows, dogs, chickens and other animals for human use. They like to eat fish, shrimps and crabs, grow rice, and keep tattooing, making bronze ritual vessels such as bronze drums and swords. They regard dragons (crocodiles) as gods, respect nature, and ask ghosts and gods in every major event. When ancestors die, they will be buried.

The religious leader of agricultural religion is a witch doctor, who can know the gods and herbs and cure all diseases. Every funeral war must be predicted by witches.

Later, a few Zhongyuan people went south, but they couldn't speak. Central plains people call themselves Nong according to Vietnamese, also known as Nong. Later, a new language was formed between the Central Plains people and the Vietnamese aborigines for communication. Vietnamese speak Vietnamese to Vietnamese, new language to Zhongyuan people, Zhongyuan people speak Zhongyuan language to Zhongyuan people and new language to Vietnamese people. Later, the Central Plains people went south. They followed the Central Plains people who had gone south before to learn to speak new languages, so as to communicate with the Vietnamese, and finally merged into the Vietnamese and became the leader of the Vietnamese. This is the ancestor of Gou Jian, the King of Yue. This group of people from the Central Plains have fully integrated into Baiyue, believed in the Great God, taught farmers, respected nature, and sought good or bad luck from witch doctors, so the name of "agricultural education" was officially determined.

The Central Plains became more and more powerful and launched many expeditions to Baiyue. The ancestors of Baiyue fought against the invading army of the Central Plains together with the descendants of the Central Plains who went south in the early days. However, due to being outnumbered, most Vietnamese sailed overseas or moved to the wilderness further south, but there were still some Vietnamese and descendants of the Central Plains who had gone south in the early days to defend their homes to the death and lived in the mountains for a long time against the Central Plains regime. This part of Vietnamese is called "Shanyue". The territory was restored, but more and more Zhongyuan people went south in batches. In the end, these Vietnamese merged into the Central Plains, and they exchanged and studied with the Central Plains people. In the early days, the language used by Central Plains people to communicate with Vietnamese people became the communication language between Central Plains people and Vietnamese people. The Vietnamese people have forgotten Baiyue, but they have kept some Baiyue elements in the new language.

The Yue people's religion "Nongjiao" is still popular among the Central Plains people in the south, and it also absorbs some teachings of his religion (Buddhism and Taoism). Agriculture is mainly spread by witches. Every village should have a witch who knows a hundred herbs and cures diseases through spirits.

The descendants of Vietnamese who fled overseas in those years also retained the tradition of believing in agriculture. In Thailand, Southeast Asia and Yunnan Miao areas, there are witchcraft tricks such as head-dropping, all of which are based on "agricultural education".
